Add a personal caption or label to any photo in your slideshow
The Add Text feature lets you attach a custom caption to any individual photo in your slideshow. Once saved, the caption appears as an overlay on that photo every time it comes up - on every device that shows the same slideshow.
It is particularly useful for older photos that lack EXIF metadata, where the automatic date and location overlay has nothing to show. You can add context that would otherwise be lost: who is in the photo, where it was taken, or why it matters.
Note: the "Add / Edit Text" button only appears when the slideshow is paused on a specific photo - it will not be visible if you open the panel between transitions. Just wait a moment for a photo to settle on screen before tapping.
Captions are saved on the pic.ie server and are tied to the specific photo, not to any one device. This means:
To change an existing caption, follow exactly the same steps as adding one. When the prompt appears, the current caption text will already be pre-filled - simply edit it and save.
To remove a caption entirely, open the prompt, clear the text field so it is blank, and confirm. The overlay will no longer appear on that photo.
