Curate exactly which photos appear in your slideshow
Edit Mode lets you go through your photos one by one and decide whether each one should appear in your slideshow. Any photo you reject is hidden immediately and will not come up again - without you having to delete or move it in your cloud storage.
Rejections are stored per device, so the TV in the sitting room can show a curated selection while a tablet in the bedroom shows everything. You can undo any rejection at any time using the Photo Gallery.
The slideshow pauses and the current photo fills the screen with a navigation bar at the top and Keep / Reject buttons at the bottom.
The navigation bar at the top of the screen gives you full control over which photo you are looking at:
A counter in the centre of the navigation bar shows your current position (e.g. 42 / 318). The First and Prev buttons are disabled when you are on the first photo; Next and Last are disabled when you are on the last photo.
Two large buttons sit at the bottom of the screen for each photo:
Hides this photo from the slideshow on this device. The slideshow automatically advances to the next photo. The photo is not deleted from your cloud storage.
Marks this photo as explicitly kept and moves on to the next one. This is the default state for all new photos - you only need to tap Keep if you want to un-reject a photo you have already rejected.
After tapping Reject or Keep, the frame automatically advances to the next photo so you can work through your collection without extra taps.
The View Rejected button in the Edit Mode navigation bar opens the Photo Gallery - a full-screen grid showing every photo you have rejected on this device.
From the gallery you can:
Tap ← Back to Edit at the top of the gallery to return to Edit Mode without losing your place.
Tap the ← Back button in the top-left corner of the navigation bar to exit Edit Mode and return to the live slideshow. The slideshow will resume from the photo that was on screen when you entered Edit Mode.
